Peer support

Your first year at university is a big adjustment so it makes sense to talk so someone who has a sense of what you are experiencing, and can offer advice. Most faculties have some a mentorship programme in place. Mentors are trained senior students who can help you adjust to academic life, and refer you to areas where you can find the support you need. Some residences will also have a mentorship programme in place. During Orientation, or the first few weeks of first semester, you will find out about how to sign up for a mentor.
